18 Apr 2026Energy & Net ZerosarcasticWhat a surprise! Green Party against renewable energy when it’s in their back yard. Solar farms are not easy locally. East Pye Solar is in my South Norfolk constituency but I’m still supporting it because we need to ditch our addiction to fossil fuels. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
18 Apr 2026MP & ParliamentangryRightly, this is not going away for Tice & Reform UK.
18 Apr 2026Local GovernmentcelebratoryReal conversations: Out in Loddon today, hearing directly from residents alongside Jeremy Rowe. As District Councillor he shows up, gets stuck in and works to sort problems. On 7 May, back local action. Vote Local. Vote Labour. Vote Jeremy Rowe for Loddon Ward.
18 Apr 2026TransportangryA life lost on Watton Road and it should never have happened. I warned it was too fast, too dangerous, too risky. I was told there was not enough evidence. Now there is. This is not politics. It is about saving lives. Norfolk County Council must act now before another tragedy.
17 Apr 2026Local GovernmentcelebratoryListening matters: Great to spend the afternoon on Hampden’s estate with the unstoppable Jenny McCloskey. She listens, acts and delivers. For unity over division and public service over self service, vote local. Vote Labour. Vote Jenny McCloskey on 7 May.
16 Apr 2026Economy & Jobs (General)celebratory🚨 Norfolk’s games industry is booming and ready to grow even further. I pressed ministers on how our region can benefit from the Video Games Growth Package. The Government confirmed UK-wide support and I’ll be working with them to secure opportunities for Norfolk developers. youtu.be/cUiIUkd5W3w
16 Apr 2026EducationcelebratoryThis is a big win for SEND families in South Norfolk. We’ve secured £5,907,219 for Norfolk to bring specialist support closer to home, earlier and without the fight. No postcode lottery. No long waits. Real change for children and families.
16 Apr 2026ImmigrationangryWould you look at that! It’s as if Reform UK are only happy when peddling fear. First the demanded the hotel close. Now it’s closed Reform UK are spreading fear, rumour and division about each other’s neighbours. They’re only happy when you’re scared. www.edp24.co.uk/news/2602351...
15 Apr 2026Agriculture & Rural EconomycelebratoryGreat to sit down with Defra Secretary, Emma Reynolds MP, to talk biosecurity. I’ve long pushed for stronger protections against disease. From Foot and Mouth to Avian Influenza and Bovine TB, we must go further. Thanks to her for engaging with my ideas for a science led approach to Bovine TB.
14 Apr 2026Defence & SecuritymeasuredHong Kong’s global role is shifting. Pleasure to meet again with Chloe & Tomas from The Committee for Freedom in Hong Kong. Their latest report exposes how Hong Kong is being used by China to funnel military components to Russia’s illegal war in Ukraine. Read more: thecfhk.org/illicit-hong...
14 Apr 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredHi Alex - we had the Second Reading of the Representation of the People Bill which the government is going to amend at Committee Stage following The Rycroft report.
12 Apr 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryA new way to stay in touch on the sidelines 🏉 Great to visit Wymondham RFC and see my new pitchside board in place. Supporting local sport matters and so does being accessible. If you need me, you know where to find me. Best of luck to The Anglian Vipers for the new season!
11 Apr 2026MP & ParliamentcelebratoryHethersett deserves better: real local action 🌹 Out campaigning with our brilliant Labour candidate Ben Weston, who lives in the village and understands the pressures we face. On 7th May, vote local. Vote Labour. Vote Ben Weston. Because two Ben’s are better than one! 😉
11 Apr 2026Technology & DigitalcelebratoryInnovation in South Norfolk: Yesterday I visited Netmatters in Wymondham. Their Laptops 4 Learning scheme is giving refurbished laptops to those who need them most. If your business has spare devices, step forward: www.netmatters.co.uk/laptops-4-le...
10 Apr 2026Health & NHScelebratory🚑 Fastest response times in years: Thank you to our ambulance crews Last month, East of England crews reached serious emergencies in an average of 28 minutes 15 seconds, the best since May 2021. Labour’s £4.5m investment is delivering. Thank you to every paramedic. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
9 Apr 2026Health & NHScelebratoryBig win for South Norfolk: we’re getting HALF of England’s new dental training places. I’ve raised this in Parliament and directly with ministers. After years of being overlooked, we are now front of the queue. South Norfolk voted for change in 2024 and Labour has listened. More to come.
8 Apr 2026Culture & Communitycelebratory12 years of community strength 💪 Brilliant to celebrate Loddon Community Gym’s anniversary and meet Louise, Lynne, Mike & Ted. A true local asset going from strength to strength. They need committee volunteers. If that’s you visit 👉 www.loddoncommunitygym.com
7 Apr 2026Defence & SecurityangryDonald Trump’s words are reckless and dangerous. Talk of “civilisation dying tonight” is not leadership, it is a march towards a war with no end. Targeting civilians would breach the Article III of the Geneva Convention. We must stand for peace, protect lives and work with allies for stability.
7 Apr 2026Crime & Policingmeasured𝐍𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞. Over 3,000 new neighbourhood police and PCSOs are now in place to protect our communities. For rural areas like Norfolk, where isolation can let criminals slip through the net, this matters even more. Lots done. Lots more still to do.
6 Apr 2026Defence & SecuritymeasuredDon’t know if you’ve seen, but I did raise in a debate in February: £40,000 to Betray Britain? Reform, Brexit and Russia Exposed youtu.be/2aIFYLOJmKM
6 Apr 2026Defence & SecurityangryEspecially if you ask their Comrade Nathan Gill. At least £40,000 to betray the UK for Russia. Mr Gill also sat in the EU Parliament at the same time as Mr Farage.
6 Apr 2026Technology & DigitalmeasuredMost of the time it’s pretty well behaved in my opinion. People in South Norfolk usually disagree agreeably on Facebook. It’s the random accounts from Greater Manchester or Cardiff that keep popping up on national news-focused stories I’m finding a pattern of behaviour with.
6 Apr 2026MP & ParliamentsarcasticThinking out loud: when I share positive changes driven by govt’ on FB, like lifting the 2 child cap, the response is an instant pile on from accounts with no link to South Norfolk. Feels less organic, more coordinated. Hard to ignore the pattern. Mainly accounts with strong links to Reform UK. 🤔
6 Apr 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredYou’re often asked as an MP “what do you want to achieve?” The answer I always give: 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿. Lots done. Lots more still to do.
6 Apr 2026MP & ParliamentsarcasticI mean, he came to my constituency last week. Think he’s been to South Norfolk more than Clacton!
5 Apr 2026Defence & SecuritymeasuredRhetoric like this should concern us all. If global powers talk openly like this, the rules based order is at risk. It is more important than ever for European NATO allies to work closer together to defend our interests & uphold international law. We cannot allow “might is right” to take hold.
3 Apr 2026Health & NHSmeasuredSun safety matters. As I complete my cancer treatment, I spoke to the BBC about the risks of sunburn in childhood and why it is so important we take it seriously. Early habits can have lifelong consequences. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
2 Apr 2026TransportcelebratoryYou asked, I acted. A Mulbarton resident raised an issue where elderly people could get to the doctor’s surgery but not back home by bus. I took it up with First Bus and now drivers will stop both ways. A fix that makes a real difference.
1 Apr 2026Health & NHScelebratoryI rang the bell today. After months of skin #cancer treatment I reached a moment I will never forget. Thank you to the extraordinary #NHS staff who cared for me with such skill compassion and kindness. I cannot thank my family, friends and constituents enough for your support.
