13 May 2026Health & NHSmeasuredIt’s Mental Health Awareness Week. I’ve long campaigned for better support for people with mental health conditions, with a particular focus on those suffering from eating disorders. Awareness is vital, but real change only comes when we take action too. #MHAW
13 May 2026Technology & DigitalangryMen are using Meta AI glasses to secretly film women at beaches, shops, on the street & on nights out. They then post these clips online where they receive a barrage of misogynistic abuse. I’m campaigning to make this behaviour an offence. Women deserve to feel safe in public spaces.
13 May 2026MP & ParliamentcelebratoryDespite what GB News would have you believe, we @libdems.org.uk made major gains in these elections. People are voting for us because they know we’ll take on Reform and deliver the change communities are crying out for. People are backing us Lib Dems; these results prove it.
12 May 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryI met with Historic England to hear how they’re protecting and championing heritage across the South West. In Bath, we’re incredibly lucky to be surrounded by such fascinating history - and I’ll always work to protect it.
12 May 2026Energy & Net ZeromeasuredGreat to meet with dCarbonX to hear how they’re developing offshore underground energy storage. Building a resilient energy supply is vital to energy security. Increasing gas storage capacity will help protect the UK from price spikes & supply shocks, while supporting renewables when output is low.
12 May 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryThe Little Theatre - a cherished cinema in Bath - celebrates its 90th Birthday this year! It was wonderful to mark this milestone with Hilary King, daughter of its founders, in honour of 90 years of cinematic history. Happy Birthday The Little!
12 May 2026EducationcelebratoryIncreasing specialist school places in Bath is vital so children with special educational needs & disabilities get support close to home. No child should have to travel miles to access the right provision. I'm proud @bathnes.bsky.social is helping local schools deliver the education children need.
11 May 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredLabour and the Conservatives have failed people. Britain’s broken two-party system is crumbling as voters demand better. We @libdems.org.uk made huge gains at these elections because we reject the divisive politics of Reform & the Greens. We will keep fighting to deliver the change people deserve.
11 May 2026Economy & Jobs (General)measuredLabour must ditch its self-imposed Brexit red lines. Refusing even to consider re-joining the EU single market or negotiating a UK-EU customs union is strangling our economy with red tape. A stronger relationship with Europe is the key to boosting growth, trade and our national security.
8 May 2026Economy & Jobs (General)celebratoryIt was a pleasure to visit BMT in their new Bath offices. As a global business working across multiple engineering sectors, they are making impressive investments in innovation, with ambitious plans to build skills and expand into new areas.
8 May 2026EnvironmentcelebratoryHappy Birthday Sir David Attenborough! For decades, his work has inspired so many to help protect our planet. The documentary Ocean exposed the devastating reality of bottom trawling - a practice which I've since been campaigning to ban in marine protected areas. A true national treasure! 🌎
8 May 2026Economy & Jobs (General)angryThe APPG for Investment Fraud & Fairer Financial Services continues to fight for the thousands of business owners sold toxic derivative-linked loans. After the financial crash, banks used these to protect their balance sheets - destroying homes, health & livelihoods. These people deserve justice.
8 May 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryArchitecture makes a vital contribution to Bath & the South West. RIBA’s globally-renowned awards programme showcases the very best of British architecture across the UK. Congratulations to all the winners including winners of the Sustainability Award, Bath’s very own Klas Hyllen Architecture.
7 May 2026Defence & SecuritymeasuredI met with peace campaigner Diana Francis, along with other members from the groups Stop War & Rethinking Security, to discuss the Lib Dems' position on nuclear weapons. It's vital we keep our country safe in these uncertain times, while doing all we can to promote world peace.
7 May 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryWest of England Music and Arts (WEMA) aims to inspire everyone to thrive and achieve through the power of music, arts, and culture, whatever their ability or life circumstances. Today I met WEMA's CEO, Simon Lock, to explore how I can support their vision.
7 May 2026Technology & DigitalangryIt’s deeply disturbing that a woman who discovered a video of herself - secretly filmed using smart glasses & uploaded online - was told she would have to pay to get it removed. Perpetrators are profiting from every view & like these degrading videos get. It's sickening & must be criminalised.
6 May 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryI’m so excited to see this fantastic event return to our city! Hundreds of singers & musicians will perform across Bath, filling our streets with music and bringing people together.🎶 Even better, it’s completely free - don’t miss your chance to be part of it.👇
6 May 2026Technology & DigitalmeasuredWe @libdems.org.uk are gathering views on how children use social media & how they can be better protected online. Your input will help shape our response to the Government’s online safety consultation. Fill in our short survey by May 11th.👇 docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...
6 May 2026Crime & PolicingmeasuredReassuring to hear about Avon & Somerset Police's City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team targeting shoplifting. In 2026, over 120 shop theft reports in B&NES have led to suspects being charged/summoned to court. Good to see neighbourhood policing supporting businesses & tackling repeat offenders.
5 May 2026Defence & SecurityangryThe continued closure and blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is driving up costs for British people. If Iran & the US continue this reckless escalation, we risk a return to full-scale war. Egos must be set aside. Trump should lift his own blockade & Iran must stop holding ships hostage.
5 May 2026ImmigrationmeasuredReform & the Greens trading blows proves neither has a real plan for our asylum system. A system broken largely due to Farage’s Brexit disaster. To start fixing immigration we must strike new partnerships with our EU allies. Only we @libdems.org.uk are serious about rebuilding these relationships.
1 May 2026Energy & Net ZeromeasuredRetrofitting makes homes healthier, reduces energy bills & supports the move away from fossil fuels. I spoke with Funda Kemal of Bath Spa Uni, Cllr Sarah Warren & Dr Robert Grover of Bath Uni about overcoming skill gaps & fragmented delivery so we can make home improvements more accessible.
1 May 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryGreat to officially open this fascinating exhibition, “The 1926 General Strike in and around Bath – the untold story.” It reveals Bath’s militant past and reminds me of the solidarity, compassion, resilience and strength Bathonians still carry today - qualities which have never been more important.
1 May 2026Housing & PlanningmeasuredToday I had my regular catch-up with Curo to discuss concerns raised by constituents. We covered reports of anti-social behaviour and the impact of unexpected maintenance bills on leaseholders. It was good to discuss how we can work together to address these concerns.
1 May 2026EducationmeasuredEvery child with special educational needs & disabilities deserves the chance to reach their full potential at school. I’ve written to the Government - urging it to protect creative subjects that help children build vital skills, and create an apprenticeship scheme to train the specialists needed.
1 May 2026EducationmeasuredThe Government claims it wants more support for children with special educational needs & disabilities in mainstream schools. But the funding they've announced won’t undo years of cuts to support. If they’re serious about improving SEND inclusion, they must start by properly funding our schools.
30 Apr 2026EnvironmentcelebratoryOver 60% of household waste is now recycled or composted in B&NES♻️ This is thanks to the amazing work of the Lib Dem-run @bathnes.bsky.social council making it easier for residents to recycle & send less waste to landfill. Lib Dem-led councils are leading the way to a cleaner, greener future.
30 Apr 2026EducationmeasuredI visited Oldfield School to see the great work they do supporting children with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities. The Government wants to improve SEND inclusion in mainstream schools, but they've not promised nearly enough funding. Schools need urgent funding now, not later down the line.
29 Apr 2026Technology & DigitalangryChildren are at risk of exposure to online harm every day, yet the Government has given itself up to 21 months to introduce new social media protections. That’s far too slow. The Conservatives backed this delay. Only we @libdems.org.uk are pushing for faster action to keep children safe online. 🔶
29 Apr 2026Energy & Net ZeromeasuredThe UK still has no permanent home for highly dangerous nuclear waste - everything sits in 'temporary storage'. We haven't even decided where to start building a geological disposal facility. Why, as we’ve expanded nuclear, haven’t we built the one thing we have always known we would need?
