22 May 2026MP & ParliamentangryYou should probably take down your repost of the announcement of Chris Kennedy from yesterday, and apologise again for Green Party antisemitism if you want to have credible political discussions with anyone.
22 May 2026Local GovernmentangryThis morning I’ve been canvassing with the team in Streatham St Leonard’s Ward where yet another Green Party anti-semitism scandal will cost tax payers £25k for a by-election I spoke to many angry green voters who feel let down by the Green Party, and who will vote Lib Dem this time around.
21 May 2026Crime & PolicingmeasuredICYMI, I pushed the Govt this week to implement better protections for victims of stalking and domestic violence, and managed to secure a meeting with the Minister to discuss this further.
20 May 2026Otherangry… well, they didn’t! Rather than back a realistic plan to rebuild trust with the EU, they prefer empty words. They’ve let down families and businesses across London and the nation. As ever, it’s the Lib Dems who show the real leadership on Britain’s role in the world.
20 May 2026OthermeasuredVery shortly, MPs will be voting on our #LibDem amendment to kickstart negotiations for a UK-EU Customs Union. It's time for Labour MPs to put their money where their mouth is and take a genuine, concrete step towards fixing the Brexit mess. I really do hope they'll walk through the lobby with us.
20 May 2026Crime & PolicingmeasuredLondon is full of great shopkeepers who are continuously being let down by Sadiq Khan's failure to put more officers back on our streets. The new organised crime unit is a very small step towards fixing that. We need real neighbourhood policing back on our streets. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
19 May 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredProgress might be slow (painfully so sometimes), but it is also steady, and I will keep up the fight on all of these priorities. 📬️ If you'd like to get in touch about any of these issues, or if you'd like to raise something else entirely with me, please drop me a line: luke.taylor.mp@parliament.uk
19 May 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredThis is really just a snapshot of what a day in Parliament can look like... and I hope it gives you a sense of how much of our job fighting for you is about being the voice in many different rooms for your priorities, over and over again.
19 May 2026Health & NHSempathetic🌃 - To finish off my busy day, I attended a reception held by Dignity in Dying to hear from staff, supporters and people with personal experience of the cruel status quo, and to understand options for bringing the Terminally Ill Adults Bill back before lawmakers during this session of Parliament.
19 May 2026Othermeasured🇪🇺 After a lot of talk in recent days from certain figures in Labour... 👀 I really hope Labour MPs decide to back us tomorrow, so our country gets back on the right track.
19 May 2026Economy & Jobs (General)celebratory📝 I then met with my Lib Dem Parliamentary colleagues at our weekly meeting, where we're preparing to move an amendment on starting negotiations with the EU for a new Customs Union, finally untying our hands from behind our back on growth.
19 May 2026Crime & Policingempathetic🕎 - Next up was a meeting with the Jewish Leadership Council to discuss rising to the challenge of tackling antisemitism in London - and how we can all work together to protect our Jewish friends and neighbours in the face of a rising and worrying assault that is plaguing our city.
19 May 2026Transportmeasured(This would provide much easier routes to Heathrow from the constituency as we only have the SL7 or trains all the way up into London!) I then pushed for improved reliability and capacity from Worcester Park Station for long suffering commuters - a campaign that I’ve been pushing for years now!
19 May 2026Transportmeasured🚂 … and then more transport chat at the South Western Railway APPG meeting, where I heard from the Heathrow Southern Railway Ltd about proposals for connections to Heathrow from Woking and Clapham Junction.
19 May 2026Transportmeasured⛽️ ... which led nicely to a meeting on the next steps for the APPG on the Future of Aviation that I Chair, which includes hydrogen aviation, the development of other sustainable aviation fuels and what the new civil aviation bill will mean for Londoners and our airports.
19 May 2026Energy & Net Zerocelebratory✈️ - I then attended a reception on Hydrogen Aviation, focusing on the role investment in technology will play in decarbonising the industry. This is going to provide so much value and create so many new jobs - and also has the potential to reduce noise pollution too!
19 May 2026Crime & Policingmeasured🏛️ - The next part of my day was a question to the Justice Minister about concerns domestic violence and stalking victims could be let down by law changes involving the earlier transfer of offenders to lower security prisons. I managed to secure a meeting with the Minister to discuss this further.
19 May 2026Transportcelebratory🏅 - I made the case for increasing services on the Sutton loop, and extra services into Blackfriars so we can get more people from Sutton to Central London and to improve current services - which is particularly important to make the most of the exciting London Cancer Hub development!
19 May 2026Transportmeasured🚆 - I kicked off the day by using the opportunity of a Thameslink roundtable to push for the improvements that we need in services from Sutton to London. This is an issue that's raised regularly on the doorstep, and we need to be able to rely on good links from our major station hub!
19 May 2026Culture & CommunityempatheticI had the honour of addressing the Mullivaikkal Remembrance Day yesterday. We must never forget the events of May 2009, and continue to demand justice for the Tamil Community. I am proud to represent a constituency that's home to a wonderful, vibrant and strong Tamil community.
19 May 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredTo scratch my engineering itch I chose 254 as my Private Members Bill ballot entry this morning. Sadly the numbers only go up to 500 so I couldn’t choose the much more satisfying 568 instead! Fingers crossed for the draw on Thursday morning.
18 May 2026MP & ParliamentsarcasticWith millions struggling to pay bills and our political system still deeply broken, Labour are focusing their attention on... internal melodrama (for an election that hasn't even been triggered yet).
14 May 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredIf you’re up late tonight watching coverage of today’s… “events”… (let’s be honest, you probably will be!), then you can catch me on ITV’s Late Debate talking about the London election results and the PM’s future.
7 May 2026OtherdefensiveThats a 'hell no' from me.
6 May 2026MP & ParliamentsarcasticTomorrow is polling day in Sutton, and it's a choice between... Taking Potshots vs Fixing Potholes Stirring Division vs Strong Vision A Conservative-Reform Coalition of Chaos vs your hardworking local Lib Dem team Find your team here: suttonlibdems.org.uk/team
6 May 2026MP & ParliamentcelebratoryThis is unusual - but I want to thank Labour and the Greens voters today. So many of you have told us you're backing the Lib Dems in Sutton to stop a Conservative-Reform Coalition of Chaos. Your support means so much! We need a broad movement to beat the Conservatives and stop Reform tomorrow.
6 May 2026Crime & PolicingmeasuredIn which case you’d be wrong. London has had success with some types of offences decreasing, but the overall crime rate has been increasing, and cutting police officers risks further continuing this trend. www.statista.com/statistics/3...
6 May 2026Crime & PolicingangryLabour refuse to come forward with anything to fix the Met Police other than obfuscation or smoke and mirrors. They have taken London for granted for too long. Tomorrow, use your vote for your local Liberal Democrat team to get local champions who will fight for community policing.
1 May 2026Health & NHSempatheticThe NICE guidelines for Chronic UTI patients urgently needs to change, CUTI patients shouldn't be forced to live in constant pain. My latest column in the Sutton Guardian below: www.yourlocalguardian.co.uk/news/2605206...
29 Apr 2026Crime & PolicingangryThis epidemic of antisemitic violence in North London must be stamped out. My statement on today's heartbreaking news in full:
