22 May 2026Defence & SecuritymeasuredThank you to @quietriotpod.bsky.social for having me on this week! We spoke about what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank, and why now more than ever it is important that we use our voices to speak out. Listen below ⬇️
20 May 2026Utilities & WaterangryThe Lib Dems have been clear that Thames Water does not have a future. The rescue deal should be rejected, and the company should be rebuilt as a company for public benefit. Thames Water must work in the public interest and stop charging exorbitant fees for a terrible service.
18 May 2026Defence & SecuritymeasuredThat is why the international rules based order must survive, as the alternative is unconscionable. We cannot allow Trumps deals based order to replace it. (2/2)
18 May 2026Defence & Securitymeasured🧵 I don't like that we are now in the era of the 'strong man.' I'm proud of this country and how we were part of the countries which came together to establish the League of Nations and then the United Nations after the Second World War. (1/2)
15 May 2026Health & NHScelebratoryMind have put together a great page of how you can get involved and what support is available. buff.ly/FYapu3M (2/2)
15 May 2026Health & NHSempathetic🧵 This week is Mental Health Awareness week! This is a chance to check in on your mates and look after your on mental health, perhaps by doing an activity you enjoy or speaking to friends and family. (1/2)
15 May 2026EnvironmentmeasuredIt was disappointing today to see the BBC's investigation show the poor water quality in so many designated bathing sites across the country, including at Wolvercote. We will fight to retain Wolvercote's bathing status and ensure that it remains a place for us all to enjoy for years to come.
15 May 2026EnvironmentcelebratoryToday marks the start of the Bathing Water Season. 🏊️ Thanks to the hard work and campaigning of local residents, we secured Wolvercote Mill Stream bathing status in 2022. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
14 May 2026Health & NHSmeasuredI’d like to thank @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social for his service. I shared his ambition for positive change and I believe he meant it. However there is still so much to fix from social care to palliative care, pharmacy and dentists. I look forward to working constructively with whoever replaces him.
8 May 2026Culture & CommunitymeasuredWe absolutely can, and we must, call out the atrocities of the Israeli Government, but without being antisemitic . Those who believe in a two state solution should want everyone to feel safe whether they are in Israel, Palestine or in the United Kingdom. (2/2)
8 May 2026Culture & Communityempathetic🧵 It is unacceptable that Jewish people now feel less safe in Britain. In Oxford, our interfaith community stand in solidarity with each other against all forms of attack against any faith. (1/2)
7 May 2026Local GovernmentcelebratoryThe Lib Dems have made gains in the last seven consecutive local elections. In these Local Elections we are hoping to make gains in both Conservative facing areas in the home counties and Labour facing areas in London. People are voting Lib Dem because they want local champions in their areas.
1 May 2026Culture & CommunityempatheticJoint statement from the Oxfordshire Faith and Civic Leaders Group and the Thames Valley Faith and Civic Leaders Group on the horrific antisemitic attack in Golders Green on Tuesday. www.oxford.anglican.org/news/stateme...
30 Apr 2026Crime & PolicingempatheticI was horrified to see the vile antisemitic attack on two Jewish men in Golders Green yesterday. Antisemitism has no place in society, and we must do all we can to root it out. My thoughts are with the victims, their families and the whole Jewish community across the United Kingdom.
29 Apr 2026Health & NHSmeasuredI met with Wes Streeting to talk about Summertown GP Surgery. His team have committed to working with local health systems to explore every avenue possible for funding the new site. This is not the end but it was positive to have the opportunity to speak with Wes and get his officials onside.
23 Apr 2026Health & NHScelebratoryWhen I visited the Warneford Hospital, it was very clear the creaking facility needed replacing, so I'm pleased this has cleared a key planning hurdle. There are still issues to be worked through, but I'm hopeful that this is a stepping stone towards world-class mental health care in Oxfordshire.
15 Apr 2026Health & NHSmeasuredMaking sure that our GP services are revving on all cylinders is key to making sure that patients get the access to NHS services that they need. We are at a crucial moment in securing a new site in Summertown. I raised with Wes Streeting the role of the District Valuer in this process today.
9 Apr 2026EducationmeasuredThe survey for parents & other adults can be found here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F... Please complete the surveys by Monday 11th May to help contribute to the Liberal Democrats response. (3/3)
9 Apr 2026Technology & DigitalmeasuredThe surveys take no more than 15 minutes to complete and will help to feed directly into the Liberal Democrats response to the Government's consultation. The survey for students in KS3-5 can be found here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F... (2/3)
9 Apr 2026Technology & Digitalmeasured🧵 Many parents have got in touch with me recently to raise concerns around the use of social media for young people. The Lib Dems Spokesperson on Science, Innovation and Technology, Victoria Collins, has launched survey's to scope the views of parents and students who use social media. (1/3)
2 Apr 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryI will continue to fight for a world where autistic people are able to live their lives to the fullest and where we recognise the positive contribution which neurodivergent people make to our society.
2 Apr 2026Culture & Communitycelebratory🧵 Today is World Autism Awareness Day. This year the theme is 'Autism and Humanity - Every Life Has Value', highlighting the dignity and worth of all those with autism in the world. (1/2)
30 Mar 2026Health & NHSmeasuredICB's must be given the resources to deliver these services properly. This cannot be another Modern Service Framework allowed to gather dust on the shelf. (2/2)
30 Mar 2026Health & NHSmeasured🧵 For too many people, the quality of palliative care is a postcode lottery. We welcome the Government's forthcoming Modern Service Framework, but with some scepticism. The Committee recommends that ICBs and the Department are held accountable, with consequences for failure. (1/2)
27 Mar 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredI came into politics to change things for my local community. There are really good people who may want to stand as councillors and MPs who are deterred by the tone of debate. We need to change some of the ways in which we engage in politics, without diminishing anyone else. #bbcqt
