23 Jun 2026Economy & Jobs (General)measured Britain's economy is struggling, and we all know that the one thing which would shift the dial on the economy is re-joining the Customs Union and Single Market, and that is what the Liberal Democrats are fighting for.
23 Jun 2026OtherangryIt has been a decade since the disastrous vote to leave the EU. Ten years on, Britain has lower prosperity, higher inequality and more division. Young people's future was robbed by Brexit, and I promise that we will continue to fight for you to access the same opportunities which we enjoyed.
22 Jun 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredHave a look at our session on the Federated Data Platform and the questions from my colleague Ben Coleman. Last Wednesday.
22 Jun 2026Local GovernmentmeasuredWould you mind emailing me and I can get an answer for you?
18 Jun 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredThere are big choices which this country has not taken for a long time - we need to move to talking about these issues such as the economy, defence and social care. Whatever the Labour Party decide to do with their leadership, they should do it quickly and get on with governing the country.
17 Jun 2026Defence & SecuritymeasuredJane and Alan are absolute heroes for how they handled their interaction with a Russian frigate in the Channel. Russians spreading misinformation is nothing new, but questions remain about what that Russian frigate was doing there and what caused them to fire warning shots towards a British yacht.
17 Jun 2026Culture & CommunityempatheticI know many members of our community are feeling hurt at this time in light of the EHRC guidance, so it was heart-warming to see so many MPs and members of the LGBT+ community come together to celebrate the progress achieved so far and discuss the work still to do.
17 Jun 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryLast week, I had the pleasure of co-sponsoring Stonewall's annual Parliamentary Pride Reception where MPs, ministers, campaigners and ally's from the LGBT+ community came to celebrate Pride in Parliament.
17 Jun 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryThis month has been very busy spent celebrating Pride! 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ I attended Oxford Pride, joining in with the march through the city centre and making a speech about the importance of coming together as a community to fight for our trans and non-binary friends in the wake of the recent EHRC guidance.
16 Jun 2026Utilities & WaterangryIn the last few months, 35,000 houses in West Oxford have had their water pressure cut by Thames Water, some by up to 50%. This isn't a service, it is a scam and it is my constituents who end up footing the bill. The Government must let Thames Water fail and start again.
16 Jun 2026Culture & CommunityempatheticIn a world which feels increasingly polarised, Jo's words that 'we have far more in common than that which divides us' feel all the more important. We all have a duty to honour her legacy, by working across divides and spreading a positive message of hope and not hate in our communities.
15 Jun 2026Technology & DigitalcelebratoryI was very pleased to see them recognised for their efforts when they were awarded 'Oxfordshire New Business of the Year' on Friday. Find out more about Tribela: tribela.com (3/3)
15 Jun 2026Technology & DigitalmeasuredI recently met with Tribela at the Abingdon Youth Summit, a new social media platform which aims to protect young people online through added privacy and to removal of advertising. (2/3)
15 Jun 2026Technology & Digitalmeasured🧵 The Government has today announced a ban on social media for under 16's. After months of delay, the Government have cobbled together restrictions on social media for young people, but we need a policy which will last and hold big tech’s feet to the fire. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c7... (1/3)
15 Jun 2026Defence & SecurityangryI was shocked to see the 'Great Israeli Real Estate' event take place in London this weekend. I and my Lib Dem colleagues have long called for a ban on trade with illegal Israeli settlements. The Government should not only place sanctions on individuals, but also on those that fund them as well.
11 Jun 2026Defence & SecuritycelebratoryDelightful to see Isabell Poppelbaum yesterday, the Deputy EU Ambassador to the United Kingdom. We discussed the EU-UK reset deal, and how we can work to bring the UK closer to Europe. 🇬🇧 🤝 🇪🇺 @euinuk.bsky.social
10 Jun 2026Health & NHScelebratoryLast week I met some incredible young people from our community at the Abingdon Youth Summit. They said they wanted MPs, councillors and business leaders to raise their concerns at the highest level. That is why I read out a section of the letter they wrote for us in the Health Committe today.
10 Jun 2026TransportmeasuredThere should be a statutory obligation to bring road deaths to zero, just as Oxfordshire County Council have done. Figures show that the number of people killed or seriously injured on Oxfordshire’s roads fell by around 18% in 2025, this compares to a 20% increase across the Thames Valley that year
9 Jun 2026Health & NHSmeasuredThe Government must target the least active groups to help embed physical activity into clinical practice and close the gaps in health inequality.
9 Jun 2026Health & NHSmeasuredThe Health and Social Care Select Committee's most recent report into healthy ageing highlighted the unacceptable 20-year gap in healthy life expectancy between the most and least deprived areas of the country. Physical activity can be as, if not more, effective at treating ailments in later life.
9 Jun 2026Educationmeasured The Government must help to support further educational colleges and apprenticeship providers, such as Abingdon and Witney College, to help get young people into work.
9 Jun 2026Jobs & EmploymentmeasuredThe Government's rise in employer national insurance contributions was an own goal and has contributed to the rise in youth unemployment. Many young people gain their first job in hospitality and retail roles, where many people learn the softer skills they need for life.
3 Jun 2026Housing & PlanningmeasuredHe promised me that change was on the way in the next twelve months, and that he would look into some of the cases which you have raised. In the meantime, I will keep taking up your cases and raising them at the highest levels. (2/2)
3 Jun 2026Housing & Planningmeasured🧵 Today I met with Matthew Pennycook who is the Minister for Housing. We met to discuss service charges, raising the concerns that many residents have brought to me regarding lack of redress, poor value for money and awful communication. (1/2)
2 Jun 2026Health & NHSmeasuredThere are some bits of the Bill which I urge the Government to reconsider, but I will work constructively with them to make it a success. The Bill will be judged noy by us, but by the patients, like my constituents Chris and Freya Rose, who deserve to be placed at the very heart of this legislation
2 Jun 2026Health & NHSmeasured🧵 Far too many people in this country feel that the system doesn't work for them. This Health Bill is a chance to tackle health inequalities and in turn improve productivity within the NHS. (1/2)

22 May 2026Defence & SecuritymeasuredThank you to @quietriotpod.bsky.social for having me on this week! We spoke about what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank, and why now more than ever it is important that we use our voices to speak out. Listen below ⬇️
20 May 2026Utilities & WaterangryThe Lib Dems have been clear that Thames Water does not have a future. The rescue deal should be rejected, and the company should be rebuilt as a company for public benefit. Thames Water must work in the public interest and stop charging exorbitant fees for a terrible service.
18 May 2026Defence & SecuritymeasuredThat is why the international rules based order must survive, as the alternative is unconscionable. We cannot allow Trumps deals based order to replace it. (2/2)
