25 May 2026Health & NHSmeasuredAfter meeting with @sarcoma_uk, I raised a serious concern in the House of Commons on a recent HMRC decision to charge VAT on drugs provided for free through the Early Access programme. This has caused pharmaceutical companies to withdraw, putting future access at risk.
21 May 2026ImmigrationcelebratoryToday's immigration statistics show the scale of change since Labour took office. Net migration down 82% to 171,000, asylum hotel use down by 35% and small boat arrivals down 41%. The numbers speak for themselves.
21 May 2026Cost of LivingcelebratoryThe Chancellor has announced a temporary VAT cut from 20% to 5% on children's entry to theme parks, zoos, museums, cinemas, soft play and theatres during the school holidays. Children's meals in restaurants and cafes are also included. Great news for families this summer!
20 May 2026EducationcelebratoryVisited Uxbridge College to see how they have invested their share of the £4.6 million government funding. Great to see the improvements to the facilities. We also discussed expanding SEND provision and plans for a Youth Employment Hub in the borough. I'll keep you updated!
20 May 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryA lovely occasion at St Andrew's Church in Uxbridge to mark Middlesex Day. We raised the Middlesex flag and planted a tree to celebrate the church's recent Gold Award Eco Church status. The church was funded by the Fassnidge family in 1865 and is a cornerstone of our community.
19 May 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryJoined the local Barclays Manager and the Shopmobility team at the Chimes to see the Premier League and Barclays Women's Super League trophies on display in the heart of Uxbridge. Thank you to Barclays who were also out on the high street promoting fraud and scam awareness.
18 May 2026Housing & PlanningangryBetween 2019 and 2025, 104 children died with temporary accommodation indicated as a contributing factor. These figures are shocking and the system must change. Thank you to the Shared Health Foundation for this important report, scan the QR code to read the full report.
16 May 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryHuge congratulations to Wealdstone FC on reaching the FA Trophy Final at Wembley for the first time in 41 years. A new lease for their ground sorted and a cup final appearance in the bag – it's been an incredible season for the club. The whole community will be rooting for you!
15 May 2026Social CaremeasuredI attended the launch of an important new briefing showing how the Child Maintenance Service is failing victim-survivors of domestic abuse. The findings from Gingerbread, Surviving Economic Abuse and Women's Aid are concerning and I will be raising them with Ministers.
15 May 2026Health & NHScelebratoryExtremely pleased to see NHS waiting lists at their lowest in 3.5 years. The largest year-on-year reduction in 16 years. After years of record waiting lists under the Tories, this is great progress and a testament to the hard work of NHS staff across the country.
15 May 2026EducationcelebratoryVisited West London Racing Centre to hear about the incredible work RC Vision are doing with young people through their STEM sessions. Hearing directly from young people, parents and the volunteers who have kept this facility going for over 30 years was very inspiring.
14 May 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryHonoured to speak at Hillingdon Women's Centre's 40th anniversary celebration. For 40 years they have been a lifeline for women in our community facing abuse, poverty, destitution and violence. The work this charity does changes lives and I am proud to support them.
14 May 2026Health & NHScelebratoryThis week is Mental Health Awareness Week and I attended a great drop-in hosted by the Mental Health Foundation. Organisations like Mind in Hillingdon are doing incredible work supporting people across our community and we must continue to raise awareness of mental health support.
14 May 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryWonderful to join the Global Tamil School for their 5th Annual Day celebration in West Drayton. An amazing occasion honouring students who completed their graded exams, and a real testament to the dedication of the teachers and parents who have built this community school!
13 May 2026Health & NHScelebratoryIt was a pleasure to host the Prostate Cancer UK team at the Houses of Parliament to celebrate securing access to abiraterone for men with high-risk prostate cancer in England.
12 May 2026Crime & PolicingmeasuredResidents at the Gouldings and Fairleigh Court on Pantile Walk in Uxbridge have raised serious concerns about drug dealing and anti-social behaviour. I have written formally to Hillingdon Council demanding urgent action and will be keeping a close eye on their response.
12 May 2026Health & NHScelebratoryToday is International Nurses Day and I want to take a moment to thank every nurse working across Uxbridge and South Ruislip. The dedication and compassion you bring to your roles every single day does not go unnoticed. We are incredibly lucky to have you.
12 May 2026Crime & PolicingmeasuredA great coffee afternoon in Yiewsley hearing from residents. We discussed everything from casework issues to anti-social behaviour in the area. All of the feedback raised will be taken forward and I will be following up on the specific issues brought to my attention.
8 May 2026Health & NHSmeasuredResidents in Uxbridge are waiting over six months for wheelchair provisions from NHS contractors and cannot get basic repairs carried out. I raised this in the House of Commons calling for an independent body to hold contractors to account.
8 May 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryGreat to be out with volunteers from St Margaret's Church Uxbridge last week for a litter pick along local streets in Uxbridge!

6 May 2026Local GovernmentcelebratoryTomorrow are the local elections! Here in Hillingdon, after 30 years of Conservative control, it is our opportunity to bring new leadership to the council. Vote Labour and let's finally deliver the change our borough deserves.
6 May 2026Local GovernmentmeasuredOur flags are wonderful and I'm proud of what they represent - when we come together to celebrate our nation. 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 But Hillingdon Council needs to listen to the concerns of residents – it's time to take those illegally fly-posted across the borough down.
4 May 2026OthermeasuredIt is shocking that animal rehoming organisations remain unlicensed and uninspected. I sponsored a Dogs Trust event in Parliament on this issue and have written about why regulation is long overdue. Read more here: www.politics.co.uk/mp-comment/2...
3 May 2026Housing & PlanningcelebratoryLabour’s Renters’ Rights Bill means stronger protections for 85,961 private renters across Hillingdon. Ending no-fault evictions, banning rental bidding wars, capping upfront rent to one month and limiting rent increases to once a year.

29 Apr 2026EducationmeasuredPleased to meet with Guide Dogs to discuss how the planned SEND reforms can better support children and young people with a vision impairment in England. Too many are missing out on vital specialist support and the planned SEND reforms are an opportunity to change that.
