Weekly PM questions

Prime Minister's Question Time is a weekly parliamentary procedure in which the Prime Minister answers questions from MPs about government policy and current events. Sir Keir Starmer, as Prime Minister, will face questions from opposition MPs and backbenchers on the government's record and priorities. This session provides an opportunity for MPs to hold the government to account on any matter of public concern.

PMQT is a core parliamentary accountability mechanism, giving elected MPs and the public a formal opportunity to challenge the government directly. It has little legislative effect but high symbolic importance as a test of the Prime Minister's political standing and the government's ability to defend its record. Media coverage often shapes public perception of government competence.
