7 Jun 2026Housing & PlanningmeasuredAccording to @thetimes.com, the Government is set cap ground rents asap. Pleased my select committee colleagues and I are being listened to, but the Government still needs to go further and faster on leasehold reform! www.thetimes.com/article/7095...
6 Jun 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredPleased to hold my weekly advice surgery in Byfleet Library yesterday. Casework surgeries let me find out first-hand about the issues affecting #Woking constituents, and I get to offer advice and support. I will be back in Byfleet for another surgery soon.
5 Jun 2026EducationcelebratoryI'm delighted that the Government have agreed to give Maybury Primary School and Westfield Primary School more money to improve their buildings - it's great news for our community. I'll continue to push for more investment in local schools right across #Woking constituency.
4 Jun 2026Crime & PolicingmeasuredSurrey's Steps to Change hub is based in #Woking and brings together services, such as the local authority, the police and domestic abuse charities. Tragically, the hub is one of only two in the country, because it was really eye-opening to see the support that it provides.
3 Jun 2026MP & ParliamentcelebratoryIn less than 2 years, I’ve now spoken more in Parliament than my predecessor did in 14 years!   Since being elected as #Woking‘s MP, I’ve got a £500m debt write off, improved child protection and secured a Neighbourhood Health Centre - and helped so many constituents as well.
1 Jun 2026Local GovernmentmeasuredWest Byfleet in #Woking loses its last bank today, with Lloyd closing. I spoke to BBC Surrey Radio about it this morning - I’ve called for a banking hub to open, so everyone can have access to in-person services. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
31 May 2026Cost of Livingangry#Woking’s only brewery, Thurstons in Horsell, is sadly closing down because of high costs. I've demanded the Government apologises for what it's done to the hospitality sector and agrees to a debate on how it can properly support the brewing and pub sector in the future.
30 May 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryTo celebrate #Woking Boxing Club’s 100 year anniversary, I went in the ring with the Mayor this evening! 🥊
30 May 2026Health & NHSmeasuredAnimal welfare is one of the main issues #Woking residents write to me about. I've attended an @afruk.bsky.social in Parliament about Herbie's Law, setting out a framework for accelerating animal free science - phasing out animal experiments in medical research over the next decade.
28 May 2026TransportcelebratoryLast week, I chaired a roundtable in Parliament with Heathrow Southern Railway to discuss proposals for a privately financed rail link between #Woking and Paddington via Heathrow - which could seriously improve connectivity to both the airport and central London.
27 May 2026Housing & PlanningmeasuredLeasehold reform is a huge issue in #Woking and across the country - MPs have today published a report calling on the Government to go further and faster to deliver its manifesto promise to leaseholders. 26 May 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredCasework surgeries are a really important part of my role as #Woking’s MP. They allow me hear first-hand about the issues affecting constituents, tackle more complex cases - and offer advice and support. If you need my help please email me at will.forster.mp@parliament.uk.
20 May 2026Economy & Jobs (General)measuredTonight, I voted for a UK-EU customs union. We need to restore our trading relationship with Europe and turbo-charge our economy. Whenever I meet with #Woking businesses, they tell me how difficult it is to trade with the EU post-Brexit - that needs to change.
20 May 2026Crime & PolicingmeasuredSurrey @libdems.org.uk MPs and I have written to the Police and Crime Commissioner following the latest police inspection, which highlights serious ongoing structural and service concerns at Surrey Police - despite its five‑year strategy. #Woking residents deserve better.
19 May 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryEnjoyed celebrating 20 years of Soccer Aid, which has raised an extraordinary £121 million to support vulnerable children worldwide. It was fantastic to hear about all the incredible projects this money has supported abroad – and meet legendary former goalkeeper David Seaman.
18 May 2026Housing & PlanningmeasuredI'm ignoring the political soap opera and focusing on delivering for #Woking. This week, I'll be working on leasehold reform, pursuing a Private Member's Bill, holding South Western Railway to account, attending the new Mayor's swearing-in, and visiting Beaufort Primary School.
17 May 2026Local GovernmentmeasuredI’m celebrating the @libdems.org.uk’ success in gaining control of West #Surrey Council in my latest #Woking News and Mail column. We are inheriting a new council that will effectively be bankrupt on day one - but we will do our best to turn it around. www.wokingnewsandmail.co.uk/opinion/hist...
16 May 2026Local GovernmentmeasuredPleased to welcome @pauldfollows.bsky.social to his new role as West #Surrey Council’s Leader. I look forward to working in partnership with him to tackle the new council’s unprecedented historic debts, unsafe roads and a children’s services department failing vulnerable children.
16 May 2026Local GovernmentcelebratoryDelighted that my friend and colleague, @pauldfollows.bsky.social has been chosen as the #LibDem Leader of our new West #Surrey Council. Read my full statement about what it means for #Woking ⬇️
15 May 2026Local GovernmentcelebratoryI can’t believe it was a week ago today, that @zoefranklinld.bsky.social and I were welcoming @eddavey.libdems.org.uk to #Surrey to celebrate the @libdems.org.uk winning control of our new council! 🔶 🗳️ 🎉
14 May 2026Housing & PlanningangryThe Conservatives' unlawful removal of over £4 million from #Woking's council housing budget has resulted in a huge blacklog of issues - it's hardly surprising housing is the biggest issue in my post bag. I've asked the government what steps it's taking to ensure this does not happen again.
13 May 2026Housing & PlanningmeasuredYesterday, I attended a public exhibition about plans to build 574 apartments in two buildings in the Chobham Road island site in #Woking town centre with Councillor Liam Lyons - great to talk to local people about their views and meet the potential developers.
12 May 2026Environmentmeasured9 out of the top 10 councils for recycling in the country are Lib Dem. Whereas, when the Greens run Brighton, it had one of the lowest recycling rates in the country. So, I wouldn't be disappointed! I am confident the new Lib Dem Council will do it can to improve air quality and lower its emissions.
11 May 2026Local GovernmentcelebratoryI want to thank everyone who voted in last week's local elections. The @libdems.org.uk gained control of West #Surrey Council and we won every seat in #Woking! Sign up to my newsletter to find out what I'm up to this week and what I think of Wednesday's King's Speech ⬇️ www.willforster.co.uk
9 May 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryPleased to raise Surrey's flag with Parliament's Speaker for Surrey Day 2026 - the annual celebration of everything that makes our county such a great place to live! There's fantastic events taking place across #Woking and beyond - find out more👇 visitsurrey.com/surrey-day/
4 May 2026Crime & PolicingangrySince being elected as #Woking's MP, I've made protecting vulnerable children a priority. I recently spoke in favour of Maya's Law - it's shameful that even where authorities are aware of the risk, failures in information sharing have prevented them from intervening.
30 Apr 2026Defence & SecuritymeasuredI regularly meet church leaders in #Woking who raise the plight of Christians abroad. I've said in Parliament that tackling extremism and the persecution of Christians abroad needs to be one of the Church of England's top priorities.
29 Apr 2026Health & NHSmeasuredWest Byfleet in #Woking has seen a lot of development, but no investment in health services. I'm backing the @libdems.org.uk' no doctors, no development policy. Developers would be required to build practices and fund new GPs before residents move in. My petition👇 buff.ly/BBFaKWB
28 Apr 2026Environmentmeasured#Woking residents care deeply about animal welfare and the environment. It's something I'm frequently contacted about. That's why I attended an event about the potential reintroduction of lynx to Britain - which could help restore ecosystems and support woodland regeneration.
27 Apr 2026Cost of LivingcelebratoryDelighted to have opened the Woking Community Grocery! 🎉✂️ Thank you and well done to all those at Welcome Church and their amazing backers like Birds Eye, Boz’s and Porky Whites for making this happen - it will really help those in #Woking with the rising the cost of living!
