1 Apr 2026Health & NHSmeasuredA third of people in the UK don’t complete their bowel cancer screening test. Bowel screening helps spot cancer before symptoms start, when it’s more treatable. This April, Bowel Cancer UK want everyone who receives their free bowel cancer test to complete and return it as soon as possible.
31 Mar 2026Crime & PolicingmeasuredOf 86,262 phone thefts uncovered by a Freedom of Information request by the Liberal Democrats, only 705 resulted in a charge, which is less than 1% of that total. The Government should be restoring proper community policing and get more bobbies on the beat, especially in town centres.
31 Mar 2026Utilities & WaterangryThere have been over 300,000 dumping incidents in the last calendar year. Which is itself shocking; however, further to this, water companies are not required to monitor or report the volume of sewage dumped. The Liberal Democrats are calling for this to change.
30 Mar 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryStreet Pastors are a collective of members of local churches in Torbay, who are there to support those who may find themselves in a spot of bother on a night out. Jennie and I visited the pastors last weekend and had the privilege of watching them in action once again.
30 Mar 2026Housing & PlanningmeasuredThe land rear of Darwin Crescent is currently still being held by Cavanna Homes, who promised they would open up the space for residents to use. On Saturday I staged a 'flash mob' outside the crescent with residents and Councillors Swithin Long and Mike Fox.
29 Mar 2026Cost of LivingempatheticI know how hard it can be to manage rising costs at the moment. It's always a good idea to check what support you might be eligible for. @age_uk’s benefits calculator could help you find out what support you may be entitled to: www.ageuk.org.uk/information-...
28 Mar 2026EnvironmentcelebratoryHealthy rivers, lakes and coasts are essential for thriving communities, economies and wildlife. This Saturday, I’ll be switching off in support of WWF’s #EarthHour. 🌍 #EarthHour
27 Mar 2026Jobs & EmploymentmeasuredThe 'Access to Work: Employment that Works' report shows that the scheme helps to keep up to 50,000 disabled people in work and saves the taxpayer nearly £70 million. By investing in the scheme the Government can help disabled people get into the jobs they love and reinvigorate our economy.
