20 May 2026MP & ParliamentcelebratoryProud to have put my name to this. Two party politics is over and we need a new electoral system that reflects that reality👇
19 May 2026Utilities & WatermeasuredWe CANNOT let private water companies profit from polluting our rivers. I welcome the Clean Water Bill, which will take forward much of the reform the sector needs. But I am concerned that, without addressing the sector's financial failings, we will only be perpetuating a broken system.
14 May 2026Utilities & WatermeasuredClean rivers, fair bills and a water system run in the public interest should not be too much to ask for. It’s time for the government to be radical and build a model with fairness, accountability, and environmental protection at its core. It’s time to take back control of our water.
13 May 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredAs we begin a new session of Parliament, I am urging this government to be much bolder and more ambitious. Those on the Front Bench must now ensure that, as the bills set out by the King today are introduced, they go as far and as fast as possible to deliver the change we promised.

12 May 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredIf we want to rebuild trust with voters, we need an electoral system that reflects the reality of UK politics in 2026. Last week’s election results sent a clear message - and I absolutely accept that. But they also made it clearer than ever that first-past-the-post is no longer fit for purpose.
10 May 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredI am calling on the Prime Minister to set out a clear timetable for a change of leadership. The PM is a good man who only wants the best for our country, but I believe it is time for him to step down in an orderly fashion.
29 Apr 2026MP & ParliamentcelebratoryI’m proud of what this Labour Government has achieved in its first parliamentary term. Today, I asked the Prime Minister what his message is to voters in my constituency ahead of next month's local elections.
29 Apr 2026Jobs & EmploymentempatheticToday, we remember those who have died from workplace injury, illness or disease. And we reaffirm our commitment to keeping their memories alive and continuing the fight for better conditions and stronger protections for the workers of today and the future.
28 Apr 2026Local GovernmentcelebratoryThis election on May 7th could be the most consequential local decision in decades. This is your chance to support a team that will stand with you and restore pride in Bradford. Labour will build a stronger Bradford, building on past achievements and delivering change across the district.
20 Apr 2026Social CaremeasuredAs the anniversary of the Allowance approaches, we have a moral obligation to do better. Carers deserve a system that recognises the enormous contribution they make and allows them to live with dignity and financial security. Nothing less than a fundamental reform of Carer’s Allowance is needed.
17 Apr 2026Social CareangryThe Carer’s Allowance Overpayment Scandal is a stain on the British State's record. Over years, the DWP penalised thousands of unpaid carers who unintentionally earned above the limit. I am calling on the government to overhaul the system to ensure carers can live with dignity and security.
15 Apr 2026MP & ParliamentcelebratoryWe are winning the argument and support for a more representative voting system in Westminster.
13 Apr 2026Social CaremeasuredIt is a huge step for carers that the government has started the reassessment process for Carers Allowance overpayments. This marks the beginning of rectifying past injustices where hardworking unpaid family carers were penalised by DWP for being overpaid through no fault of their own.
1 Apr 2026Cost of LivingcelebratoryAs Easter nears, it was a privilege to be part of this year's Tawney Dialogue as chair of Christians on the Left. The focus was on tackling child poverty, especially with the two-child limit set to be scrapped, lifting 450,000 kids out of poverty. A massive thank you to all who attended.
31 Mar 2026OthermeasuredI have consistently raised issues that the legislation to introduce assisted dying in England and Wales as drafted is not workable or safe. Members of both Houses have constructively sought to propose amendments but the proposers of the Bill have failed to accept them.
31 Mar 2026Utilities & WatermeasuredI won’t let this issue go: Affordable water bills and clean rivers shouldn’t be too much to ask for. This is what I’ve been fighting for throughout my time in Parliament. Momentum for RADICAL change is growing. I'll be keeping up the campaign to make it a reality.
