A marginal seat — won by just 18 votes (0.0%) in 2024. Centred on Poole. Population 99,985.

One of Labour's more rebellious 2024 intake MPs, Neil Duncan-Jordan has defied his party whip five times since entering Parliament -- a notable tally for a first-term backbencher. His most politically charged rebellions came on welfare reform: in July 2025 he voted against clauses of the Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment Bill at committee stage, and backed a cross-party amendment protecting Northern Ireland claimants from benefit cuts. He has also voted against expanding protest criminalisation, against tuition fee rises, and most recently against accepting Lords amendments to the Crime and Policing Bill on civil liberties grounds. Beyond the division lobbies, he publicly accused his own party of "chasing Nigel Farage's tail" on immigration, coordinating a cross-party campaign involving over 50 MPs, and has led parliamentary calls for an "Essentials Guarantee" to protect vulnerable welfare recipients.

At 87% voting participation -- broadly in line with the Commons average -- he is an engaged rather than exceptional attender. His voting profile sits well to Labour's left: he scores 100% on disability benefits protection versus a 12% party average, and is 40 percentage points more likely than typical Labour MPs to vote in favour of civil liberties. He rarely aligns with pro-business or tough-on-crime positions. His 143 parliamentary contributions span social care, fiscal policy, cost of living, and housing.
