Represented by Lab since 2024. Covers Bournemouth and Poole. Population 115,215. Median income £26K (below average).

Elected in Labour's 2024 landslide, Jessica Toale has made her clearest independent mark on the assisted dying debate -- twice voting against her party's majority position on the Terminally Ill Adults Bill, once to support guidance and devolution provisions (June 2025) and once opposing an amendment that would have let employers block staff from participating in assisted dying (May 2025). Her voting data shows she is notably more cautious on assisted dying access than the average Labour MP, sitting at 33% aligned versus the party's 48%. Beyond that, she has been an active constituency operator: she secured a £20 million investment for West Howe, organised a politics summer school for young people in Bournemouth, and formally escalated Royal Mail delivery failures to Ofcom on behalf of residents.

At 82% voting participation -- modestly below the Commons average -- and 99.5% party alignment, Toale is broadly a reliable government loyalist. Her 126 contributions across 93 debates since 2024 represent a solid workload, with speeches concentrated on economy and jobs, social care, local government, and crime. She deviates from her party average most visibly on consumer protection (voting 21 percentage points above the Labour norm) and is less aligned on welfare expansion (45%) and climate action (57%) than a typical Labour MP. She sits on no select committees.
